Douglas
D32 Greyhound
Douglas was a British motorcycle manufacturer from 1907 to 1957 based in Kingswood
The Douglas was known for its horizontally opposed twin cylinder engine
In 1931 the Great Depression pushed Douglas into bankruptcy
Most 1932 and 1933 models were built using leftover inventory produced prior to their financial hardship
For 1932 models, Douglas started using dog breed names to expand its product line
The 500cc was the Bulldog and the 600cc example shown here is the Grayhound
This 600cc four speed is one of the first motorcycles equipped with a dry sump lubrication system
It is fitted with a Smiths speedometer, 3 authentic leather bags and large passenger's seat
