  • The Scout was built by the Indian Motorcycle Company from 1920 to 1949
  • The 101 Scout, made from 1928 to 1931, has been called the best motorcycle Indian ever made
  • Production of these continued until the end of civilian production in 1942
  • "8" Ball was featured in the Art of Motorcycle at the Guggenheim Museum of Art in New York
  • It rivaled the Chief as Indians most important model
  • A second line of Scouts, with lighter frames and reduced engine displacements, was introduced in 1932
