- The CBX was sold for only four years, 1979 and 80 in its standard/naked appearance and 1981 and 82 as a sport tourer
- The engine is a four stroke inline 1047cc six with four overhead cams, 24 valves, dual Hy Vo cam chains and a wet sump
- It generates 85 bhp @ 9,000 rpm and does the standing start 1/4 mile at 11.552 sec @ 117.49 mph
