1994 Harley-Davidson VR1000
  • This VR1000 is an incredibly rare factory H/D AMA superbike
  • The VR1000 was first raced in 1994 but mechanical failures and internal funding issues doomed the bike
  • H/D encouraged several private teams to continue to campaign three bikes
  • In 1996 H/D gave Canepas 10K team an extra chassis which was raced by Chris Carr (Pole at Pomona) and enough spares to race for many seasons
  • The engine was designed by H/D and then taken to Roush Racing to complete the first running engine in 1989
  • This bike was raced by Mike Canepa's 10K and run out of San Jose HarleyDavidson CA
