• The frame uses the engine as a stressed member, and its single sided swingarm pivots from the shaft of the crankcase

• The VTEC employs only two of the four valves per cylinder when operating at lower engine speeds
• All four valves are engaged over 6,800 rpm by an electrically actuated oil spool valve which sends oil pressure to the lifter actuators which then move the engagement pins into place above the valve stem allowing the remaining two valves to open
