1983 Benelli 900 Sei
  • In 1972, Italian manufacturer Benelli released the first production 6 cylinder motorcycle in the world, the Sei (Italian for "Six")
  • Initially a 750cc, later models produced from 1979 thru 1989 used 900cc engines rated at 80 hp and had a top speed of 120mph
  • Fewer than 2,000 900 Sei's were produced in four different series with less than 100 for the U.S. market
  • This motorcycle was premium priced and utilized exotic components such as 18" Campagnolo magnesium rims, dual Brembo disc brakes, Marzocchi telescopic forks, and triple Dell'Orto carburetors
  • To narrow the bike's width, Benelli placed the alternator behind the cylinders instead of inline and used air passages between the cylinders for improved cooling
