Most Fire Power 331s used a two barrel carburetor and produced 180 hp with the exception of the 1955 Chrysler 300C which was equipped with dual Carter WCFB four barrel carbs and rated at 300 hp
The intake and exhaust valves lie on opposite sides of half moon combustion chambers in a cross flow design where the intake valve is closest to the intake manifold and the exhaust valve is closest to the exhaust manifold
This powerplant was the preferred power for many 1950s street rods, NASCAR, and drag racers
