Prestine Low Mileage 1994 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1
Having covered a mere 8,963 miles from new, this Corvette ZR1 is presented in the rare color combination of Torch Red with a Bright Red interior. Powered by the 4-cam, 32-valve, 5.7L/405 HP LT5 V-8 and 6-speed manual transmission, it features the FX3 Selective Ride and Handling package, air conditioning, power driver's seat, power steering, power brakes, power windows, power locks, cruise control and a battery of other luxury and performance amenities, all combining to create an absolutely world-class supercar. A closer look shows the ZR1 appears to be in superb overall condition, looking like it was ready for the showroom.
First introduced for the 1990 model year, the ZR1 turned the sports car industry on its ear. From Detroit came a machine that could run with, and in some cases better than, the world's finest. The heart of the matter was the LT5 V-8, designed by Lotus, co-developed with GM and built by Mercury Marine in Oklahoma. Initially good for 380 HP, that figure increased to 405 in short order, and with the right driver, the ZR1 could boil the road from 0-60 MPH in 4.5 seconds, hit 100 MPH in 10, find 150 MPH in under 30 seconds and top out at 175 MPH. If you're into comparing specs, you'll notice these specs are on par with the Ferrari Testarossa and Lamborghini Diablo, cars costing much more all around.
Interestingly, for a car of such prowess, Chevrolet didn't do much to set the ZR1 apart from a standard-issue Corvette, with subtle badges and ultra-wide Goodyear tires being the main giveaways that this was not just another C4. In the end, the final ZR1 would roll off the line in 1995 with some 6,000 ZR1s built in a five-year span. This is one of only 448 built in 1994, just 140 of which were cloaked in Torch Red.
