Top Tier Build, Ford Galaxie, Restomod, Schwartz Perf. Chasis, Built Ford 390
This 1964 Ford Galaxie is not a nostalgia piece or a straight-line bruiser built around big power alone. It was conceived as a modern interpretation of Ford's full-size muscle era, engineered from the ground up around a one-off Schwartz Performance G-Machine chassis. The original body is preserved, maintaining classic authenticity, and the car enjoyed one-family ownership prior to the current restomod, adding a layer of provenance. The Schwartz chassis completely redefines how this Galaxie drives, turning a legendary nameplate into a machine with modern control, balance, and confidence.
The Schwartz chassis delivers rigidity and suspension geometry that simply did not exist in the 1960s. Tubular upper and lower control arms with needle bearings, Ridetech adjustable coilovers at all four corners, and a triangulated four-link rear suspension give the car composure and stability that feel worlds apart from a factory frame. Flaming River rack and pinion steering with electric assist provides crisp response, while Baer 14-inch brakes with six-piston calipers bring the car down from speed with authority.
Power comes from a 390 FE Ford engine built by Keith Craft on its original block, enhanced by a custom twin turbo system and Hogan intake manifold. Managed by a Holley Dominator X Max ECU with MSD Hyperspark ignition and professionally dyno tuned, the engine delivers modern reliability with unmistakable FE character. A freshly rebuilt C6 automatic with a manual valve body sends power through a carbon fiber driveshaft to a Moser full floating rear axle and Currie True Trac differential with 3.70 gearing.
This Galaxie rides on a set of one-off Boyd Coddington 5-spoke wheels and includes a matching spare, perfectly complementing the car's stance and performance-oriented design.
Inside, the Galaxie blends muscle-era presence with modern usability. The custom interior features Vintage Air climate control, Autometer gauges, a B&M Pro Stick shifter, power windows, electric door latches, updated wiring, and a premium audio system featuring Nakamichi amplifiers and Audio Frog speakers, delivering crystal-clear sound to match the car's performance. A 3-inch stainless steel exhaust with electric cutouts lets the car cruise quietly or announce itself when called upon.
Built to be driven hard, enjoyed fully, and appreciated by someone who understands that the foundation and attention to detail make all the difference. This Galaxie is a rare opportunity to own a classic with modern performance, comfort, and power ready to be enjoyed for years to come. Every component of this build reflects meticulous craftsmanship, making it a truly top-notch example of what a modernized classic can be.
